In this week’s Recruiting Blog, Louisville Head Coach Dan McDonnell shares what he looks for in high school players.  He makes sure he can answer this question: do they play hard?

Talent isn’t enough at the college level.  Just because a kid is talented doesn’t mean every school will want them in their program.

Coach McDonnell thinks the main thing that separates the good from the great players is consistency.  These are “guys who punch the clock.”

The biggest adjustment Coach sees with a high school kid transitioning to the next level is dealing with failure and the fact that they may not have an assigned role when they step foot on campus.
