I realize that the “Best Way to Condition Pitchers” title might be a little hard to prove because there are a lot of great pitchers and coaches who train many different ways.
Regardless, I think that the video below does a good job of describing the “Why” in this type of pitcher fitness training.
I’m a firm believer of players always knowing WHY they are doing certain training, drills, work outs, ect.
Today we talk with Kansas Baseball Strength and Conditioning Coach Luke Bradford.
I had a chance to spend a week with Luke and the Kansas University baseball team and see exactly how they condition and train.
That led to me asking Luke a lot of questions and being fascinated by his in depth answers.
Eventually I knew I had to set up this interview so I could share all his training wisdom with you guys today.
In the interview we talk about the training schedule he has all the KU pitchers on, the results of tracking pitchers’ in game movements, how you can set up your personal training, and more.
If you are a pitcher or a coach, I highly recommend that you watch the 5 minute video with Luke and try applying it to your training.
Many thanks to Luke for hanging out with Next Level Ballplayer and sharing his wisdom.
