In this week’s blog, we are joined by former UCLA Coach and current Minnesota Twins Area Scout Seth Moir. Seth talks to us today about a popular topic among pitchers: arm health.
During Moir’s days at UCLA, they would simply promote a lot of throwing. They would make sure their pitchers were throwing plenty of long toss while mixing in flat grounds.
Moir thinks a common problem in youth baseball today is that kids are competing too much year-round which is not giving them enough time to get their arms in shape.
According to Moir, taking time off the mound and setting aside time to establish a proper throwing program is key to maintaining arm health for a pitcher.
