He is a big believer in clearing the mind and going up to the plate only focusing on getting a good pitch to hit.
When it comes to hitting with two strikes, Coach Rathbun has his hitters use the “no-stride” method.
This is where the hitter spreads his feet a little wider than normal and only focuses on using his upper half while trying to hit the ball to the right side of the field. This all ties back to the idea of simplicity and that sometimes in the batter’s box less is more.
