In this week’s Coaching Blog, Iowa Head Coach Rick Heller shares a simple tip to improve the angles of your infielders. “Use your glove as a gun”: you should always have the tip of your glove and the ball in your peripheral vision as you are working towards making the throw to 1st base.
When kids start to work their banana route, they sometimes can make it too big. There’s no need to be big, it simply just needs to be rhythm steps.
Make sure you or your kids aren’t over rounding the ball because this will cause them to lose some momentum heading towards first base.
